TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

VIDEO PRE-AUDITIONS

All dancers wishing to participate in the World of Dance Romania competition, regardless of the chosen category, will have to send to World of Dance Romania the name of their team and a link with a video recording of a recent moment of the competitor/team (maximum 1 minute), a recent photo, as well as 2–3 lines describing the crew.

Each applicant must also provide World of Dance Romania with the main contact name, e-mail address and phone number.

Important: Without a video selection, no contestant may participate in the competition.

The selection video may be from the team’s last performance or a rehearsal. Videos from dance classes will not be accepted and will not be selected.

World of Dance Romania will examine each submission and confirm the selected teams. Participants in Battles, Workshops, and teams invited by the organizer do not require video selection.

Selection period: 15.06.2026 until 22.10.2026 23:59.
Any video submitted after 22-10-2026 23:59 will not be considered.

CATEGORIES – WORLD OF DANCE Romania

Within the WOD Romania Championship Series, participation categories are divided into two areas: Competition and All Styles Battle.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES

The routines in the following categories are evaluated by a specialized jury.

Pre Junior Team Division (Age 6–12) – 5+ dancers (group/formation)
Junior Team Division (Age 6–17) – 5+ dancers (group/formation)
Team Division (All ages) – 5+ dancers (group/formation)

Age is calculated based on the competitor’s age on the day of the World of Dance Romania competition. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

Note: A dancer may perform an unlimited number of times only in Team Divisions.

ALL STYLES BATTLE

All Styles Battle is a 1vs1 and 2vs2 freestyle category open to all dancers. Dancers perform impromptu to music selected by the Battle DJ. Judges evaluate musicality, technique and personality.

WORLD OF DANCE FINALS 2027 QUALIFIERS

All Junior Team and Team Division participants are invited to the World of Dance Summit Competition 2027.

Teams compete in the category in which they qualified, regardless of age changes after qualification.

World of Dance reserves the right to invite any team to the WOD Finals. Videos of all routines will be published on official WOD YouTube channels.

WORLD OF DANCE SUMMIT QUALIFICATIONS

All participants may attend the World Dance Summit 2027, a 5-day event including showcases, games, masterclasses and the World of Dance Finals.

Details will be stipulated in Annex 1 to these regulations.

CALCULATION METHOD

There will be five (5) judges. The final score of each routine is calculated using the Olympic judging system.

OLYMPIC STYLE

Each judge evaluates the routine independently. The scores for all criteria are summed to obtain the total score for each judge.

The highest and lowest total scores are eliminated
The remaining three scores are averaged
The result represents the final score of the team

Example:

Judge 1: 60 points
Judge 2: 70 points
Judge 3: 80 points
Judge 4: 90 points
Judge 5: 40 points

Highest score (90) and lowest score (40) are eliminated. Final score: (60 + 70 + 80) / 3 = 70 points

DIFFERENTIATION IN CASE OF A TIE

In the event of a tie, the Head Judge will calculate the final score again using the Olympic format, excluding the highest and lowest totals.

If a tie still exists, it will be resolved in the following order:

Average technical scores
Average performance scores
Average choreography scores
Average creativity scores
Average presentation scores
Majority vote of the judges by show of hands

Note: Each competing team may request to view the score sheets immediately after the Awards Ceremony.

REGISTER

Registration for the World Of Dance Romania Championship Series takes place through a dedicated registration system, accessible via the official website: https://www.worldofdanceromania.com

Registration period: 01-08-2026 - 22-10-2026 23:59

When registering for the competition, all applicable fees must be paid in full.

Required registration information

During the registration process, participants must provide the following details:

Name of the contestant or crew and link to their Instagram account (if available)
Choreographer’s full name and Instagram link
Full name and date of birth for each dancer
Duration of the routine
Description of any props to be used during the performance, including a brief description and approximate size

PROPS

If props are used during a routine, all props must undergo a verification and approval process. The World of Dance Romania team must approve all props before the registration deadline.

To obtain approval, participants must clearly describe the props and indicate their total dimensions within the registration form, under the “Props” section.

Props considered heavy or oversized by the organizer must be placed backstage before the event begins and must not obstruct stage access for other participants.

During the event, any movement of oversized or heavy props is strictly prohibited.

Additional submission requirements

A complete list of competitors and presentation lines must be submitted, regardless of the final score achieved in the competition. This ensures that all eligible participants can be invited to the World Dance Summit 2027.

The soundtrack required for the routine may be uploaded at the time of registration or at a later stage, provided it does not exceed the deadlines specified in these regulations.

If the submitted soundtrack does not meet the organizer’s requirements, participants will be notified by email.

Application review & payment

After submitting all required information, participants must monitor the status of their application. The World of Dance Romania management team will review each application, a process that may take several days.

If the application meets all requirements, it will be approved and the participant will receive a confirmation email containing a competition registration number and payment instructions.

Payments must be made online by card via the website, in RON, at the exchange rate applicable on the day of payment. Cash payments are not accepted.

If the application does not pass the video selection stage, a rejection notice will be sent to the email address provided during registration.

Attention: Registration may be closed at any time, without prior notice, if the maximum number of available spots within a division is reached.

REGISTRATION FEES FOR THE COMPETITION

Registration fees apply to the following competition categories: Pre Junior Team Division, Junior Team Division, Team Division.

Registration fee:
50 EUR per dancer (Pre Junior Team Division, Junior Team Division, Team Division)

If a dancer participates in more than one division, the registration fee must be paid for each additional routine in which the dancer performs.

These fees are independent of any fees associated with the All Styles Battle category.

All Styles Battle

Registration fee: 40 EUR per dancer

Payment deadline: All registration fees must be paid no later than 15-09-2026.

MUSIC-RELATED CRITERIA

All participants must submit the official music mix for the registered routine no later than 10-10-2026 23:59.

All audio files must be provided in MP3 format only.

Participants are responsible for independently checking their soundtracks for the presence of profanity. Profanity is strictly prohibited. The World of Dance Romania organizing team reserves the right to perform additional music screening checks.

For the use of vulgar or inappropriate language in the soundtrack, judges will deduct points.

Music duration limits

Pre Junior Team Division, Junior Team Division, Team Division: maximum duration of 5 minutes

If the submitted music does not meet the above requirements, participants will be notified by email and may replace the file, provided that the replacement respects the submission deadline of 10-10-2026 23:59.

Important: If a team is required to clean and resubmit the music file more than two times, the team will be excluded from the event.

Teams that fail to submit their music by the deadline may be excluded from the competition or may incur additional costs, at the discretion of the Stage Manager.

After the music has been approved, each team must bring a spare USB drive on the day of the event, clearly labeled with the crew name. The music file on the USB drive must be identical to the previously approved file.

If the music file presented on the day of the event differs from the approved version and violates language or timing rules, the dancers will not be allowed to perform and may be banned from future World of Dance events.

COMPETITION ENTRIES

Each participant in the event is required to pay a registration fee, unless otherwise specified by the organizer.

If the choreographer of a dance team performs together with the team, no registration fee will be charged for that choreographer. This exemption applies to one (1) choreographer only.

If the choreographer does not perform with the team, he or she will be granted free access to the event.

IMPORTANT: Submission of applications is strictly subject to announced deadlines. Applications submitted after the deadline may result in changes to the financial conditions of participation.

TAX REFUND POLICY

To request a registration fee refund, participants must send an email with the subject “REFUND” to [email protected].

The request must include the reason for the refund, the assigned registration number, and full contact details.

Cases in which refunds are not granted

Refund requests submitted after the event has taken place
Participants who do not attend the event, regardless of the reason

In all other cases, refund requests are reviewed within two (2) weeks. The organizer of WOD Romania reserves the right to deny a refund if the stated reason is deemed contrary to these regulations.

If a refund request is approved, either a maximum of 50% of the paid amount will be refunded, or 100% of the amount will be transferred as credit toward participation in the World Of Dance Romania Championship Series next year.

Eligible refund cases

Cancellation of participation due to force majeure (quarantine restrictions, state of emergency, martial law, etc.)

In the case of an approved reimbursement, the refund operation will be completed within 30 working days from the originally scheduled event date.

Refunds are issued only to the natural or legal person who made the original payment. No refunds will be issued to individual members of teams or groups.

Our refund policy for dance workshops is designed to ensure continuity and quality. If a scheduled teacher becomes unavailable, a replacement choreographer of equal expertise will be provided. In such cases, the workshop fee is non-refundable, as the learning experience will continue uninterrupted.

Participant satisfaction remains a priority, and all efforts are made to maintain the highest standard of instruction and organization.

ACCESS TO THE EVENT

ACCESS FOR PARTICIPANTS

All participants must obtain an official access wristband in order to enter the event venue.

On 22.10.2026, a representative of the dance studio or the choreographer of the registered dancers must attend the venue prior to the event. The representative will receive from the organizer:

Access wristbands for all registered dancers and choreographers
The final schedule for the two-day event
Additional information related to the WOD Romania competition

The exact location and time for wristband pickup will be announced through the official communication channels of the event (Facebook and Instagram).

SPECTATORS ACCESS

All spectators and accompanying persons may purchase tickets to attend the event. Information regarding ticket prices and purchasing links will be published on the official website and social media pages.

WARNING: The number of available tickets is limited. Ticket sales may be closed at any time without prior notice.

Tickets will not be available for purchase at the venue on the day of the event.
The price for 1 Spectator Ticket is 30 EUR.

Children under the age of 5 are granted free entry.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE STAGE

The main stage working area has a size of 12 meters wide and a minimum depth of 9 meters.

The stage layout can be rearranged and extended up to 12 meters wide and 9 meters deep, depending on technical requirements.

Due to time constraints, technical rehearsals cannot be held on the main stage.

LOCATION AND CHANGING ROOMS

Two (2) changing rooms will be available inside the venue building, located on the first floor, separated by gender (male/female). These rooms may be used by participants to leave outerwear and personal items.

Any available space outside the main competition hall may be used for changing into stage costumes, provided that fire exits and safety access routes remain unobstructed.

AWARDS

The World Of Dance Romania Championship Series awards prizes to dance teams whose participants place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each competition division.

The team achieving the highest overall score of the WOD Romania 2026 edition, among the First Place winners of the Pre Junior Team Division, Junior Team Division, Team Division, will receive the Grand Trophy of the Competition, which includes a cash prize.

The value of the Grand Trophy cash prize will be announced through the official media channels of the event.

Additional awards may be granted in selected categories, including Best Theme, Best Costume, and Audience Reaction. Details regarding these awards will be communicated on the official WOD Romania social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram).

All prizes awarded are taxable and will be taxed in accordance with the legal regulations in force in Romania.

FINAL AGREEMENT

Attention: By registering as a participant, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted all the terms and conditions outlined below.

The organizers strongly recommend that all participants hold valid health insurance for the duration of the event. In the absence of such insurance, the organizers are not responsible for any injuries sustained during the festival.

If official documents confirming participation are required, participants must inform the organizers in advance to allow sufficient preparation time.

The organizers are not responsible for accidents involving participants or third parties during the event.

Any person registering one or more participants must obtain official permission from those individuals or their legal representatives to disclose personal data in the registration system. Registering parties are considered the official representatives of the participants they register.

This public agreement applies to all registered participants and all visitors to the event.

How we process personal data, including the data of dancers under 18, is explained in the Privacy Policy.

By completing the registration process, you assume full responsibility for the use of copyrights and related rights (including musical works in whole or in part). Any disputes or claims by rights holders will be resolved independently by you, without involvement from the Organizer, in accordance with Romanian law.

You fully waive any rights to photo and video materials captured during the event that depict you, your performance, or your property, and grant the Organizers full rights to use such materials for editorial and commercial purposes, including live display and online distribution.

Refunds in case of refusal to participate are reviewed individually after the event. Refunds may be partial or denied at the Organizer’s discretion. The Organizer does not compensate financial or moral damages for participants or spectators.

In the event of postponement due to force majeure (military action, restrictions on mass events, quarantine, etc.), paid funds will be credited toward participation in the rescheduled event. The new date and venue will be announced separately.

By registering for the event, participants and spectators automatically waive all claims against the Organizer.

Qualification to the World of Dance Finals does not guarantee entry into the United States. Participants are solely responsible for meeting all visa, travel, and entry requirements. World of Dance Romania and its organizers are not responsible for, or obligated to assist with, visa applications, travel arrangements, or entry permissions to USA
